Tips and Suggestions on Cultivating a Prosperity Mindset
I have more than I can spend, save or give away (time,
money, energy, etc.)
Leaders operate from a prosperity mindset - there is enough
(time, talent, opportunity, etc.) When know you can't afford
something, you know it. Honor your choices and priorities.
In addition, consider that this is a temporary situation
and that you ultimately can afford to do anything you choose
that has meaning for you.
But if "I can't afford it" shuts you down, brings
up resentments, anger or lack and scarcity ("and I'll
never be able to do it, either!"), then there's another
choice. Whether or not you come to the conference, if you
have the "I can't afford it" reaction to opportunities
that come up throughout your life, consider it an invitation
to explore your approach to money, prosperity and deserving
the best that life has to offer.
Here are some questions to consider. Often, they're not
easy to ask, look at or consider. If you find that's the
case, be gentle with you. A lot of our thoughts, beliefs
and habits around money were put in place long before we
even knew what a quarter was. If you ask yourself these
questions, just notice each feeling as it presents itself
- without criticizing or judging the feelings - or the people
associated with them - your job, your boss, yourself or
the questions themselves.
- What else are you not doing in your life
because "I don't have the money."??
- How much would it be worth to have everything you truly
desire in life really happen?
- What did your family believe about money and what did
they teach you about handling/having money?
- How often does everyone else, what they want and need
come first - before you?
- How long have I been saving for a rainy day or for "just
in case?"
- How do you approach paying bills - is it with a sense
of duty and drudgery or with gratitude and blessing?
Louise Hay, internationally renowned author and lecturer,
offers: "True prosperity begins with feeling good about
yourself. It is also the freedom to do what you want to
do, when you want it to do it. It is never an amount of
money; it is a state of mind. Prosperity or lack of it is
an outer expression of the ideas in your head."
Know that you deserve whatever it is you desire. What beliefs
are limiting you from enjoying all the success you really
want? What are your priorities and how can you create support
to reach them?
I am open and receptive to the abundant flow of the prosperity
that the Universe offers.
PRACTICAL TIPS:
(adapted from "Your Money or Your Life" by Joe
Dominguez and Vicki Robin) - Great Book!
What's your money personality: Are you impulsive? Cautious?
Competitive? Generous? A miser? A worrier? A snop? Hopelessly
helpless?
Is money a vehicle in your life for conflict?...or growth?
"Three Questions That Will Transform Your Life"
- Did I receive fulfillment, satisfaction and value in
proportion to life energy spent?
- Is this expenditure of life energy in alignment with
my values and life purpose?
- How might this expenditure change if I didn't have
to work for a living?
Apply these questions to everything you do - the food you
buy and eat; the clothing you wear and don't; the recreational
activities in which you participate; the health prevention
and maintenance actions.
